Every manager must manage two companies. The present and the future one.
For the present company he/she has his/her own staff.
For the future one, we act as an outsourced department reporting directly to the president.

Thus, in close cooperation with the president we perform all required tasks to implement both:

A - New things may involve:
A 1- market studies; or/and
A 2- companies analyses (for eventual alliances or acquisitions);
A 3- helping the divisions managers develop their strategic plans.

B- New ways of doing old things respect everything internal to the company such as:
B 1 - a new organization chart;
B 2 - modifying the incentive system;
B 3 - establishing new control mechanisms;
B 4 - defining the functions for a new job or a job which must be changed;
B 5 - and so on.
Both the company of the present and of the future must be equally well managed. Without the first, a company will not reach the future. Without the second, it will become obsolete.
